Hi. I wonder if someone might be able to help? I’m unable to download from the BARD website, or any other website for that matter. When I try the download begins and I can watch the progress from the “view downloads” window, but when it completes it’s not in my downloads folder and when I check the “view downloads” area again I get a message that says the download couldn’t be completed, or something to that effect. I seem to be able to download my windows updates just fine, so I have no clue what’s going on here. Has anyone had this problem before and, if so, how did you correct it? Any light you could shed on this would be appreciated. I’m going nuts without being able to download books. Thanks for reading.

What browser do you use to download?
You may be getting a second message that ask if you want to allow it, and you're not seeing it.
Reset your browser to defaults, and see what you've got.
Try another one as well.

When I used Windws, the downloads never appeared in my downloads folder, it would save it in some other location and I could never find anything I downloaded.

If you don't find a solution, you might want to try joining the bardtalk list and ask there. I have subscribed and unsubscribed from this list a few times over the last few years. It can be a bit high traffic at times, but when I have a question about using BARD or about one of the players for listening to BARD books, it can be a very helpful list. You can also try looking at the FAQ section of the bardtalk website (www.bardtalk.com.)

Here is the subscription info for the email list if you are interested:

good luck

I know this sounds odd. But, when I can't find my downloads, they end up in "My Documents folder.

All browsers have settings as to were you want your downloads to be placed.
You can change this.

Also, Windows search is your friend when you can't find a file.
